Split cycles among several recipients, if properly coordinated, offer the egg-donor recipients the chance to have a satisfactory pregnancy and implantation rates, at a reduced cost and waiting time, in comparison to egg-donor programs in which only one recipient per donor is the standard procedure.

In our study, and to satisfy the large number of recipients seeking this type of treatment, we allocated donated oocytes to an average of 2.77 recipients per cycle, and most recipients received between four and five MII oocytes. This number of MII oocytes was enough for transferring an average of 2.4 embryos per recipient, which resulted in an implantation rate of 26.8% and a clinical-pregnancy rate of 46.8%, similar to the results recently published by Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology on oocyte donation.
